Sharon Fair, BA, BS, PT, MS, PsyD, PhD
Dr. Sharon Fair, Founder and Director of Silver Lake Academy serves as the inaugural faculty member of Silver Lake Academy of Health Sciences,
Dr. Fair holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in Creative and Technical Writing from the University of South Florida, a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland at Baltimore Medical School, a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Nutrition and Exercise Science, a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD), and a PhD in Education.
Dr. Fair has served as a licensed physical therapist for more than 30 years. While her expertise is in home health, she has also practiced in rehabilitation, outpatient and academic settings.
For eight years, Dr. Fair held the post of Associate Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy and Doctor of Occupational Therapy programs at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. While there, she taught courses in Gerontology, the Psychological and Ethical Aspects of PT, Administration & Management, and Wellness. She also served as a Capstone advisor, on the Exit Exam Committee and on the University Curriculum Committee, which she chaired for two years.
Prior to teaching in Florida, Dr. Fair was employed as an Assistant Professor at the City University of New York (where she taught courses in exercise and nutrition science) and at Essex Community College in Maryland. Before pursing a career as a physical therapist, Dr. Fair obtained an ACSM certification and worked as a fitness instructor and then as an exercise physiologist.
In addition to her academic and clinical experience, Dr. Fair has provided one-on-one tutoring to a spectrum of high school students in a variety of subjects.
