Academy graduates are prepared to pursue college programs leading to careers such as physician, physician assistant, physical therapist, physical therapist assistant, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, and related health professions.

Students complete a strong laboratory science sequence that includes Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, along with four years of English, three courses in history and government, and, as required for university admission, two years of a foreign language or ALS. Mathematics coursework ranges from Algebra through Calculus and Statistics.
Health/Medical coursework includes Introduction to the Health Sciences, Anatomy & Physiology, Psychology, Healthcare Communication & Medical Ethics, Nutrition, Statistics, Exercise Physiology and a Capstone Project in the Health Sciences.

Guest speakers, mentoring, and shadowing opportunities provide meaningful exposure to healthcare careers, while the Academy progressively prepares students for the academic and professional expectations of health / medical education.

Our program is designed to help students stand out in the competitive college admissions process through a rigorous, focused academic experience centered on the health sciences. By demonstrating an early commitment to their chosen field, students can distinguish themselves as college applicants while building a strong academic foundation for future admission to nursing, medical, and other health/medical professions programs.

These founding students will have the unique opportunity to help shape the traditions, culture, and future of a new school created specifically for local youth interested in a career as licensed medical professionals. As our founding students advance, Silver Lake Academy will grow with them, adding one grade level each year:
· August 2027— Grades 9–10
· August 2028— Grades 9–11
· August 2029 — Grades 9–12

Silver Lake Academy for Health Sciences is a competitive program with limited enrollment. Completing an Interest Form ensures that your family receives information about the application process and upcoming tours.

I’m so glad you’re here!
Silver Lake Academy for Health Sciences was founded with the purpose of helping Putnam County youth and our community flourish. We are a small, private nonprofit high school committed to providing a rigorous college-preparatory education in a supportive, highly personalized environment.
Our focus on the health sciences gives students an opportunity to explore careers in health and medical related professions while completing a strong academic program. Because we are intentionally small, we are able to know our students well, provide individualized guidance, and create an environment in which students are encouraged to grow academically and personally.
My hope is that when students leave Silver Lake Academy, they are not only well prepared for college, but also more confident, independent, and ready to pursue meaningful careers in health and medicine. I look forward to the possibility of welcoming your family to Silver Lake Academy for Health Sciences.
Warmly,
Sharon Fair, P.T., B.A., B.S., M.S., Psy.D., Ph.D.
